Patterns

Our Full Packages (Layettes)

1 gown, 2 hats, 2 diapers, 1 or 2 blankets (depending on what's on hand), mom/baby bracelets and a tiny bear.

Blankets- No pattern, we use 12"x12" or 20"x20" square blankets.  They can be crocheted, knitted, serged, or sewn with flannel. One thing to remember is that multi-colored blankets are less suitable because they tend to emphasize discoloration on the baby's skin (we do accept anything people offer though!).

Matching Mom and Baby Bracelets.
One mom said it was a nice idea because most things get left in the memory box, but a bracelet can be worn in memory of their baby all of the time.  For babies too fragile for their own bracelet, we provide a bracelet for the mom that matches a charm on the pocket/bunting   http://angelbabiesinfo.blogspot.com/2013/01/bracelet-sets.html

Angel Pockets (pockets and buntings are for those too small or fragile for clothes) I just finished a picture tutorial on how to make them in the "Unique Items" page.  http://smallangelbabies.blogspot.com/2014/08/angel-pockets-tutorial.html

We've made some Mini diapers for early loss packets, but they are made from felt and only given in memory of the baby. Instructions:

Next to a small Teeny Tears Diaper.

Teeny Tears Diapers (2 sizes for 18-30 weeks gestation)

This is the project that started it all! My cousin Melissa sent me to the site when I was looking for service to do, and I fell in love with the idea. It would have been wonderful if Cassidy would have had a diaper to wear! There are two sizes, for babies around 18 weeks gestation, up to 30 weeks. Commercial diapers don't come that small, so this work of love is blessing families all over the country, and a few other countries as well. Each family gets two diapers, one to leave with their baby, and one to take home as a memento. http://teenytears.blogspot.com/.
Patterns: http://teenytears.blogspot.com/2011/10/diapers.html ** Please note: Teeny Tears is a national organization and they keep track of each donation. You need to contact them or me before donating their diapers.

Large Diapers (for preemies 30-35 weeks gestation) from the "Sew Prem" group. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6luM46oAMznMExybGNPVUltSFE/view?usp=sharing

No Sew Hats- Also from Angel Outfitters (3 sizes for 14-36 weeks). These are very soft and stretchy!

Gowns: *Please Note* After consulting with some OB nurses, the suggestions for gowns are that they be muted colors (white is always a good option) or use small patterns like flowers so that they don't distract from the baby. Also, patterns that are too cheery could be difficult for the grieving parents. Our standard layette will have a plain gown, then coordinating diapers that can have cute patterns on them.
Types of gowns: I've asked advice from other angel baby crafters, nurses, and one who dresses angel babies at the hospital about clothing and what works best... Everyone has a different idea of the best gown, so we try to include a variety of gowns/buntings/pockets in each donation.

Sewn
These sleeveless kind are my favorite for smaller babies (around 20 weeks). It's is a double layered (a little more absorbent for their wet little bodies), sleeveless (easy to put around tiny arms) gown from "Sew Prem"
Miracle Babies has larger gowns like it here:

Our modified version, with added length and a tie string for boys to make it less "dress" looking. Follow the above instructions, then add a drawstring for boys.  https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B31aG0t7rCo-TFQxUlZDU1hwbEU/view?usp=sharing

There is also a kimono option that folds over so it is easy to put on the babies.  It's one layer fyi Here is a SHARE pattern,  http://www.utahshare.org/patterns/kimono-gowns/ and a Teeny Tunic pattern from Angel Outfitters. http://angeloutfitters.blogspot.com/2014/02/Angeloutfittersteenytunics.html
